Privacy
The short version: everything is worked out on your device, and nothing you choose is sent to us.
Your tools stay in your browser
The calendars, rise and set times and the stargazing planner are calculated entirely in your browser. The city you pick, the coordinates you type and the dates you look at are not sent to us or anyone else.
Use my location
If you press Use my location, your browser asks your permission and then hands your approximate position to this page. It is used only on your device to calculate times; it is never uploaded. The coordinates are saved in your browser as your custom location so the next visit starts there; choose a city or clear this site's data to remove them. The site never asks for your location unless you press that button.
What is stored on your device
The site keeps a few settings in your browser's local storage: your colour theme, your chosen city or coordinates and time zone, the 12- or 24-hour clock, how moons are drawn, the first day of the week and each tool's last options. They never leave your device. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
Page view counts
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other sites, and never receives what you type or choose in the tools.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Downloads
Calendar files (.ics) and tables (.csv) are made on your device and saved straight to it. Nothing is uploaded to make them.
Links to other sites
Links to other websites, including the tools we recommend, are ordinary links. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
